IowaLUG, for the 3rd year, has volunteered a member or two to help at the Iowa FLL Regional Qualifier event hosted by the Science Center of Iowa. This year Scott was our guy in the trenches with some MOCs on display, helping the FLL'ers, and spreading the IowaLUG info.

A Iowa FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Regional Qualifier event hosted by the Science Center of Iowa is a fun event to behold. 15 teams of around 10 kids, their families and cheer leaders, referees, judges, spectators and a whole bunch of energy fill the Science Center as the teams compete in 3 categories for their spot at the State event to be held January 17th at Iowa State University.

As our goal is to be a resource for the fan of LEGO, more content on Iowa FLL teams, resources, and news are all areas that we hope to provide more of here on our site. We'll work on collecting and sharing those as we can. If you have questions, information, or are associated with a Iowa FLL team - reach out to us and let us know. Perhaps you'd have some suggestions on what resources would be valuable to those interested in learning more about the FLL.

What is the FIRST LEGO League (FLL)?

FIRST LEGO League (FLL) is an international program, created by FIRST and LEGO, designed to get children interested in and excited about science, technology and engineering. Every year, FIRST releases a new challenge that engages the teams in hands-on robotics design and scientific research. The theme for the challenge is different each year, allowing teams to learn about a variety of subjects.
