We are the Iowa LEGO User’s Group!

We are an officially Recognized LEGO User Group (RLUG) and a member of the LEGO Ambassador Network (LAN). The LAN is a worldwide group of roughly 300 RLUGs that we can learn from and share with regarding operations, events, and outreach. As an RLUG we have access to certain benefits and we also have specific requirements we must maintain.

The primary purpose of an RLUG is to further foster adult and teen fans love of LEGO through in-person meetups and events. Our Facebook community is a wonderful resource to promote our in-person activities, to engage with each other between meetings, to introduce ourselves to new people, and to help keep connected those who are unable to attend in-person. Ultimately, we hope that each person who is able, takes the opportunity to join us at our in-person events.

What do LUG Members Do?

Our LUG members participate in a wide variety of activities that fit each person’s interests. Some of the activities our members participate in include:

attending monthly meetings, where people can show off favorite sets or their latest MOC (My Own Creation), and participate in informative presentations or fun activities;
attending LEGO fan events, such as Bricks Days in Omaha and Lincoln, or Brickworld in Chicago, to show their best creations to the public, or meet fellow LEGO fans;
attending local social events, such as Blank Park Zoo’s summer Zoo Brew or our Bricks and Brews meetups at local breweries.

How Can I Get Involved?

The best way to get involved is to attend one of our monthly meetings, or come to one of our public or social events and meet other members. Once you are familiar with the LUG, there are other opportunities to get involved with IowaLUG events and activities, or attend shows with fellow IowaLUG members.
